Simulated Vehicle Diagnostics
Scalable diagnostic simulation for off-highway vehicles and mobile machinery
With the global increase in the number of off-highway vehicles such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery and heavy-duty mobile machines in operation, the need for maintenance, uptime and efficient diagnostics is also growing. This is driving demand for scalable off-highway diagnostic simulations. Simulation tools help engineers and service technicians diagnose machine problems faster and more accurately – with a particular focus on speed, accuracy, scalability and low training effort in workshop, field service and engineering environments.
The increasing complexity of modern off-highway machines, particularly due to networked control units, platform-based architectures and different communication protocols, is increasing the need for flexible and expandable simulation solutions. Off-highway diagnostic simulations can be used in different phases: for the development and validation of diagnostic functions, for the preparation and optimisation of service and after-sales processes, and for the analysis and reproduction of fault cases across machine variants, generations and application scenarios.

Diagnostic and Communication Simulation for Off-Highway Systems
DSA offers simulation solutions for off-highway diagnostics that enable comprehensive diagnostics regardless of time and location. PRODIS.VDS combines support for CAN, CAN FD and DoIP and offers high configuration flexibility as well as stable and fast simulation functions formobile machinery networks. Error cases can be simulated in a targeted manner in order to obtain prompt feedback on diagnostic results for development, validation and service scenarios.
PRODIS.VDS can be used in off-highway engineering and service operations. In addition, the tool supports diagnostics and simulation via local hosts, LAN and cloud-based environments, especially for the simulation of DoIP communication in distributed off-highway development teams. This enables scalable simulation setups typical of global construction and agricultural equipment organisations.
Version management and configuration management
In addition, PRODIS.VDS enables the management of multiple versions of simulation files. This allows easy switching between different simulation states and helps users to check and compare vehicle states in different phases, platform versions or service scenarios, facilitating troubleshooting and analysis.
PRODIS.VDS also offers functional advantages in terms of maintenance and configuration. The simulation configurations are managed in XML files, making the configuration information clear, traceable and easy to edit. In addition, the platform supports the connection of external editors to implement customer-specific adaptations and reduce long-term maintenance effort in complex commercial vehicle environments.
